Apostrophe Repair
Editing and print design services
ABOUT APOSTROPHE REPAIR
SERVICE: AR offers editing and print design services, negotiated over the Web, by e-mail, or by phone. Services extend to advertising material, internal and external business communications (pamphlets, training manuals, fliers, posters, mailers, newsletters, etc.), books, articles, reports, papers, Web site content, and more. Apostrophe Repair will proofread, edit, and/or design just about any document.
STYLES: Editing style options include AP, Chicago, and MLA. When a particular style isn’t requested, Apostrophe Repair defaults to:
• Articles, AP style
• Books and reports for publication, Chicago
• Advertising materials, Chicago
• Educational materials, MLA
If a client has an in-house stylebook, Apostrophe Repair can employ it.
PROGRAMS: A variety of computer programs are available for editing and design. Apostrophe Repair defaults to:
• Editing, Microsoft Word
• Design, InDesign CS2
Generally, clients are more concerned with how they will receive their finished projects. If files are small enough, e-mail is the preferred method of delivery. If files are too large for e-mail, they can be FTP’d to clients. If clients aren’t comfortable with either of those delivery methods, a CD or thumb drive of the finished project can be sent via postal mail. Hard copies of edited documents can also be sent via postal mail.
FOUNDING: Apostrophe Repair was founded in 2009. After a decade in newspapers, I decided to go into business for myself. Current clients include Wizards of the Coast, School Specialty, How Loud Media, and the Skagit Valley Herald.

Client comment
"Dawn Geluso is a trusted editor and talented, insightful page designer. She loves words, grammar and proper punctuation and is a stickler for accuracy. When I write the great American novel, I won't think twice before asking her to take the job as my editor."
